Lomandra longifolia, commonly known as Mat-rush, or Basket Grass, is a perennial, evergreen herb with leaves growing 40-80cms long. It grows in a variety of soil types and is frost, heat and drought tolerant. Ground seeds can be used in damper and the leaves are commonly used for weaving.
