The Crested Pigeon is common throughout, and native to, Australia. The stocky pigeon has a thin black crest. Its plumage is grey-brown, sometimes pink on the underparts. If startled, the pigeon takes to the air with a whistling sound. They love forests and parks and prefer being close to water.
