All work and no play makes for anyone a dull day. Unwind and relax at these places around the University of Calgary!

Welcome to the University of Calgary’s Self-Guided Tours! We welcome new and incoming students to campus and help you get a feel of what it’s finally like being at university. With the help of the Leadership and Student Engagement Office, we hope to make your stay at the university more accessible through these tours. For this story, we will take you through some of the university’s best hang-out spots: whether you want some alone time or want to spend some quality time with friends, we got you covered.

We’ll start at the MacEwan Student Centre (MSC) food court.

The food court stretches along the entirety of the second floor of MacEwan Hall and the MSC, and can be accessed from outdoor entrances on all sides, as well as from the MSC parkade elevator.

Tip: Both the MSC and the MacEwan Hall are both commonly referred to simply as “MacHall.” It may help to ask (or give) a point of interest as a reference to an exact location. The line between the two buildings is the outdoor patio just beside the A&W kiosk. Since this is where most people are in MacHall, people often think that this is the first floor, when the food court floor is actually the second floor of the building.
