Hovea linearis or Common Hovea is an open shrub that can grow to 4m. Its glossy, dark green leaves are covered in fine rusty coloured hairs. It likes a bit of damp and shelter and produces beautiful purple pea-flowers in Winter and Spring and edible peas in young pods shortly afterwards, though you should always be cautious about eating them.
