Elysha Rei Gould’s work nurtures the cultural differences between her Australian and Japanese heritage. Rei’s work draws on the crossroads between east and west, and in particular the transition between places, cultures and communities. Her work has a strong appreciation for Asian aesthetic and draws on natural elements, such as plants, flowers, fish, and birds, due to their symbolic resonance and significance in Asian cultures.
